lyrics

A face ravaged by rock n roll backed by a good and quiet soul, I put the goldfish in my bowl,
I watched us die a thousand times, you talked about me read my lines, I saw him swim around the floor.
We partied til we had to stop and made the constellations up as they talked about the stars.
I grazed my knuckles and elbows and woke up with a bleeding nose, the sunlight screaming through the door.

I'm suddenly enlightened and I realised last night, it was never just the drinking that made me want to cry
'Cause now I know myself and I can do it through the night
I lose it every day and everything will be alright.

I've got a handle on it, I got a handle on it
I'm going across the water and I'll be your favourite daughter
I know where I'm meant and it suddenly makes sense
I've got a handle on it.

This life is all I need, I grow with the raging sea, I sleep with the gentle breeze, the midnight sky brings me to my knees.
These whores won't bring me down, they make or break this town
Don't let yourself drown, let it bring you up, bring you up, bring you up.

I've got a handle on it, I got a handle on it
I'm going across the water and I'll be your favourite daughter
I know where I'm meant and it suddenly makes sense
I've got a handle on it.

I saw this town crumble to the ground
The fires blazed and tore us down
I saw those zombies crawling on the ground
I took my cat trifle without a sound

I've got a handle on it, I got a handle on it
I'm going across the water and I'll be your favourite daughter
I know where I'm meant and it suddenly makes sense
I've got a handle on it.

I stood where the earth heaves and rolls, saw everything I didn't know,
I put the goldfish in my bowl, I put the goldfish in my bowl, I put the goldfish in my bowl.
